An excellent question that I’m interested in as well. I primarily interview staffers in the U.S. congress, but some of the literature I’ve been reading looks at other countries. I hope to continue to learn more.
Why, it is almost as if they did not have any mothers, wives, daughters, granddaughters, nieces, aunts, or other female friends within their circle. Oh, and mothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, etc.
On the other hand, was it really proper and polite to expect them to just accept your expertise and knowledge*, without any indication that you were Rep X's designated staff person to address things energy and marine related?
*And of course many people with 4+ years of OJT have learned enough real world practical stuff to be equivalent to the exposure obtained via a 4 year degree in a related field.
My role wasn’t to give them information about oceans. But lobbyists should always be respectful and take time to listen to staffers questions, interests, and concerns if they hope to be persuasive.
Welcome Sheril.👍😊🌹🙏
Don't Underestimate staffers. Agree
Respect their capabilities unless proved otherwise.👍😊
Interesting 👍😊
Thank you Sudhir
What are the parallels to staffers in other countries? Do you know how similar/different it is?
